sean iām gonna need you to stop watching SATC because you need to save it for the SATC watch pod that im PRAYING will happen eventually šš»šš»šš»
Also, to your point about the 4 clocking the societal norms and expectations of women - and then rejecting them, being such an important part of SATC, and now seeing them all essentially do a 180 on that as they got older, is SUCH a let down. It felt inspiring and empowering watching them in SATC as a young girl and now, as a woman of SATC age, who is curtailing norms by choice, it's really disheartening to see who these women have become. And maybe it's too far of a stretch, but given the political climate, it feels like a 'I told you so' warning to women - this is what your older years will look like if you choose to not play by the rules. And it just could have been SO much better and SO much more exciting to see them thriving and celebrated in their lives, rather than so lost and confused and bumbling and changing who they are to please everyone around them. It sucks!
I totally agree with the Carrie of AJLT being nothing like the Carrie of SATC and I'm wondering if it simply boils down to the writers assuming that people change as they get older. It's just... ugh. But on the other hand, I remember Carrie changing herself or trying to be the acceptable version of herself to whoever she's dating. Now that Big's dead - maybe we're seeing 'Aiden's Carrie' and she's doing whatever she has to in order to have THAT relationship bc she ultimately doesn't want to be alone? Idk - I'm just trying to make sense of how different she is and what she's willing to put up with. She seems to wind up with men that she'll make all kinds of sacrifices and excuses for, who are unwilling to do the same for her.
Is Evan pronouncing acquiesce correctly? I think heās said it in the last three podcasts lol and I have to put it out there to the chat. Is awkquiesce an acceptable pronunciation? Is this like cleeque??

You can use building link to post about things you need! My building in Williamsburg uses it and we can sell things, ask for people to pet sit, etc.
